Boxycharm is a beauty subscription box that costs $21 per month. They feature makeup, skin care, and hair care products, and their website states that they send 4 to 5 full-sized or luxury-sized beauty products in each box. The company guarantees the box value to be over $100.

Boxycharm is my all time favorite subscription box. If I had to get rid of all of my boxes but one (what a sad world THAT would be), I would keep Boxycharm without thinking twice.

For me, no other box delivers the fantastic value of Boxycharm. Every month I find myself wondering how they can send so many amazing and EXPENSIVE products, but only charge $21! It rocks my socks!

The Box:

Here is this month’s box:

So the theme for this month is “ROCK 2018,” apropos for January of course. I have to say, from this viewpoint, my box is looking pretty damn good!

The first thing I always check out is the info card:

I like their information cards because most boxes don’t list retail prices. Boxycharm is always honest with their retail price listings too. I’m glad, because it’s really frustrating when sub boxes try to make products seem more expensive than they are. But Boxycharm is always right on with their information.

Okay, now for the goodies! The first item I see get’s me really excited, because Dr. Brandt is one of my very favorite brands. I don’t get to buy it in real life because it’s pretty spendy. So I adore any of their products coming in my sub boxes. This is the Pores No More Luminizer Primer:

I have been wanting to try this product for quite a while. It is very highly reviewed all over the internet. Apparently it creates a wonderful glow to your skin without making it look or feel greasy. It also helps reduce the size of your pores, and it really brightens up dull skin. I’m excited to try this out!

According to Boxycharm, this bottle retails for $38. However, you can get it on sale here for only $28.88.

The next item in this month’s box is IT Cosmetics Brow Power.

I’m excited to see this, because I am at the very end of my favorite (Anastasia Brow Wiz) brow pencil. When I opened the package, I saw this cute little message:

I really love positive little messages in my sub boxes!

So the pencil looks like your standard eyebrow pencil, which is perfect for me. The shade is Universal Taupe. Taupes work well for me because my hair is light brown/dark blonde (depending on the time of year), but my brows are usually just a little bit darker than that. Yay! Score!

The information card puts the retail value of this pencil at $24. You can get it here for $24.97.

RealHer Makeup

Alrighty then! Next up is this lovely Pur Bronze & Brighten palette:

The colors are gorgeous. A bronzer, a blush, and a highlighter. I really love how peachy coral the blush is. I’ll probably save this for summertime, because to me, it’s screaming sunshine.

Boxycharm says the retail value of this palette is $34. Sure enough, Pur ‘s website sells it for $34. However, it’s currently out of stock right now. It’s a VERY popular palette.

Moving on, we have the Crown Pro Glam Metals Palette:

If this isn’t a gorgeous palette, then I’m a monkey’s uncle! I just LOVE the design on the palette, and the colors! Oh MY! They are so pretty! See them swatched below. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of getting palettes from Boxycharm.

Boxycharm says this retails for $25, but I couldn’t find it for that price. On the Crown website you can get it for $29.99.

La Roche-Posay- ACD

This month’s last item confused me a bit. It’s the Girlactik Matte Lip Paint, obviously.

However, that’s not what is listed on my card. Apparently I was supposed to get Grande Cosmetics Grandelips Hydrating Lip Plumper. Oh well, I’m actually really digging the color of this Girlactik Matte Lip Paint. The shade is called Posh, and it’s sort of an orangey-plum color.

But my very favorite thing about this lip paint is the texture. I love matte lip colors, but I have noticed that often times when you press your lips together, even after it’s completely dry, there’s a weird sort of dry-sticky texture to it. Not so with this Girlactik Matte Lip Paint. I would say this is almost a mix between a matte lip and a lip stain. I’m really into it!

So the information card is not correct, as I received a different item. But the retail value of the Girlactik Matte Lip Paint is $23 on their website, which is just a little less than the item I should have received.

Here are the swatches:

The nine swatches on top are the Glam Metals Palette. The horizontal line is the Girlactik Matte Lip Paint, and the three on the bottom are the Pur Bronze & Brighten Palette. I didn’t swatch the brow liner because they all kind of look the same. I forgot to get a dab of the primer.

The Verdict:

I feel like Boxycharm really nailed it this month! In fact, this is probably my favorite box I’ve ever gotten from Boxycharm. I was a little worried, because my Ipsy Glam Bag this month wasn’t my favorite. It seemed like they just threw all the extra crap they had from last year and tried to make a bag out of it.

Not so with Boxycharm. This January bag has TWO palettes in it, plus a Dr. Brandt item, a brow liner, and a nice lip color. What’s not to love?

Let’s check out the value though, to make sure that it rocks!

According to the information card, this month’s box has $148 worth of product in it. However, since one of my items was incorrect, and some of the prices I found were slightly different than Boxycharm’s, my calculated value is $140.84. Pretty close.

Again, the cost of the box is $21/ month.  What an awesome value, right? Like I said, in my book, no other beauty subscription box even compares in value for the price!

I am not paid or affiliated with Boxycharm in any way. My monthly subscription comes from my own pocket, like everyone else. I just love them THAT much!

Again, I highly recommend signing up! If you sign up using my referral link (here it is again), we BOTH get extra points, which can go toward free products!

See ya later Broads!

That’s an amazing value for those products. An interesting collection too, and everything looks good quality.

That is one box of goodness, with so many great products. I have never tried any of these but I am really looking forward to trying some of these, especially that ‘it cosmetics’ Brow Pencil.
