1. LBD (Little Black Dress)

The LBD comes first because it’s the most iconic piece in the lot. This one in particular is super flattering and feminine. I can see it paired with a jean jacket and some cute sneakers, or dressed up to the nines with stilettos and some bling!

2. Chambray Shirt

I used to think it was ridiculous that they don’t just call chambray shirts denim, until I realized chambray and denim actually aren’t the same, and then I felt dumb. Don’t be me. A chambray shirt is just so cute and easy to work with. Wear it tucked in, open over a band tee, tied western style in the front, and the list goes on!

3. White Button-Up Shirt

A white button up is 100% one of the wardrobe essentials you have to have in your collection for work. I like this one because it’s a nicer fabric, slightly sheer, and very girly.

4. Striped Tee

Everyone loves a good striped tee, especially me. I must have upwards of twenty of them! These go with jeans, leggings, skirts, under vests and cardigans, etc.

5. Trench Coat

A camel trench never goes out of style. Audrey, marilyn, jackie, you name it! Every style icon worth their weight has owned a camel trench. It’s just  fact. Dress it up or dress it down, but don’t leave it out!

6. Black Blazer

A black blazer can definitely be a wardrobe essentials for work, bu my very favorite way to wear them is more casual. Slap it over a band tee, jeans, and leopard booties, and you’ll look like a bona fide rock star!

7. Over-sized Turtleneck Sweater

It’s the season of the over-sized sweater! Really though, whether they’re trendy or not, there’s always room for an over-sized turtleneck sweater on your wardrobe essentials list. I love this one because of the bubbly sleeves!

8. Versatile Jeggings

Jeggings are a must-have wardrobe piece for me. They go with all, and the soft stretchy denim is extremely forgiving (I’m talking to YOU Thanksgiving dinner!) I like this medium wash pair with very little distressing because They’re so versatile.

9. Fedora

Fedoras are like pizza. Even when they’re bad, they’re still pretty good. You can take almost any outfit to the next level just by plopping a neutral fedora on your cabeza. This one is under $17, comes one gazillion colors, and the quality is stellar. I own it in camel and gray.

10. Thigh High Camel Boots

Thigh high boots are one of those staples that instantly sexes up your closet. I mean, and nice tight pair of jeggings worn under some camel thigh high boots? Girrrrrrrl you is HOT!

11. Neutral Handbag

I have a love affair with the simplicity of Michael Kors’ handbags. This one is no exception. It’s neutral, will go with all, and has a ton of storage. Plus, for designer, Michael Kors handbags are usually priced pretty well. I mean, they aren’t gonna cost you your spleen like that Gucci bag will.

12. Nude Booties

If the season of the swqeater had a girlfriend, it’d be the season of the bootie. But booties are ALWAYS in style, and having at least one pair is essential to the well-being of your wardrobe.

13. Faux Leather Pants

Aren’t well all just pent up rockstars waiting to burst out of our mediocre skins? No? Just me? Okay. For real, whether you pair them with a band tee, a blouse, or a bodysuit, they’s cute!

14. Basic Long Cardigan/Duster

A loing cardigan is a no-brainer. It’s one of the ultimate wardrobe essentials because it’s so damn PRACTICAL. And this onen has pockets!!! Enough said.

15. Leather Moto Jacket

Back to my rockstar fantasy, a faux leather moto jacket should be a wardrobe essential for any bored gal who thinks she’s awesome! Wear it over band tees, or pair it with a super feminine floral dress and some booties for a crazy feminine edgy vibe.

16. Animal Print Loafers

Any kind of flats are necessary to round out a wardrobe, but leopard loafers just show you care. We’re gonna go with that.

17. Pretty Sneakers

These gold sneakers are a little trendy, but the concept of a pretty sneaker is not. Whatever style you choose, a glammed up sneaker is a wardrobe essential.

18. Denim Jacket

The denim jacket is a piece that never ages. Whether you want a jacket with the Sherpa inside, or you want one covered in patches, a jean jacket is essential.

19. Dark Wash Boot Cut Jeans

Every woman needs a classic pair of boot cut jeans. They never go out of style, and if you don’t have a pair stop what you’re doing and go get one!!

20. Blanket Scarf

What’s not to like about a blanket scarf? Soft? Check. Cute? Check. Warm? Check.

21. Black Pumps

I love the chunky heel twist on a classic black pump. It makes them look a little retro, and they’re easier to walk in!

22. High-Waisted Jeans

Yes, all of us 90’s kids cringe when we see high-waisted mom jeans on tweens. But I’m not talking about mom jeans. I’m talking a nice pair of sexy, fitted jeans that happens to touch your waist higher than usual. I’m particularly partial to button flies, but you do you boo!

23. Aviators

One word.

 That is all.

24. Pencil Skirt

This is another great workwear classic that can be dressed up, down, or all around. Make sure you choose one that isn’t too short, because nobody wants to be the lady in the miniskirt at work, except for the lady in the mini skirt. She probably doesn’t mind.

25. Black Trousers

The last item on our list is a work piece, but also can go great with blouses or blazers for job interviews, a formal job, board meetings, client meetings and more.

So ladies and gents, what do you think?

Did I miss anything, or is there anything on this list that surprised you or that doesn’t belong? Let me know in the comments.
