With the ever changing trends and styles that quickly dominate the fashion world, it can be difficult to keep up. This is especially true if we’re on a budget.
Fortunately there are a ton of ways to save quite a bit of money on your wardrobe essentials. I’m sharing with you my top ways to save big bucks on the best fashion pieces out there.
Buy Versatile Pieces
I try to use the rule of three here (not to be confused with photography’s Rule of Thirds). Each piece I buy must be able to seamlessly go with three other outfits. If you can’t see yourself wearing the item with at least three different outfits, it probably isn’t worth adding to your wardrobe after all. I often take this a little extra, and try to think of as many outfits as I can, not just three, but three is a good start.
See how the leather leggings and cream booties above go with so many different coats? Each one is a brand new outfit all its own!
Find Designer Dupes
Most of us average gals can’t afford to splurge on designer pieces. Thank goodness for dupes tho, amiright?? You can make your wardrobe look high and designer, and you’ll be paying a fraction of the price.
Take these Valentino Rockstud Dupes for example: they’re under $30, and they look exactly like the designer version! You end up saving upwards of $950 on a shoe that’s just as cute as the designer version.
Use Cashback Apps
There’s no good reason NOT to use a cash back app for shopping you’re going to be doing anyway. Some apps give cash and some do gift cards or points systems. Regardless of which you choose, it’s just a smart way to shop. Here are my personal favorite cash back apps:
Use Promo Codes
There are lost of different ways to find promo codes. You can get them from influencers on Instagram, you can google search for them, you can use sites like Retail Me Not, or you can use apps like Honey or WikiBuy to help you find extra codes.
I can almost always knock at least a couple bucks off of my purchase just by taking five minutes to find a promo code, and sometimes it’s a lot more than that.
This is my favorite way to save on fashion because you end up with quality pieces for a fraction of the price of new. my favorite seconhand stores are:
Other places to get Secondhand Clothing are:
- Garage Sales
- Flea Markets
- Farmer’s Markets
- Hospice Thrift Shops
This may seem like a no-brainer, but it’s one people forget about a lot. However, big box stores often discount their clothing at the end of seasons in order to make room for the new styles and trends. Here are my favorites:
Throw a Clothing Swap Party
This is another one of my all time favorite ways to save money on fashion. Get a group of 5 or 6 (or more) of your fashion loving friends. Each lady brings several nice pieces they no longer use, and the swapping begins!
This is great because you can end up with all kinds of fun things including clothing, jewelry, purses, shoes, hair accessories, hats, and more! Plus one woman’s trash is another woman’s treasure, amirite?
And there you have a it! A few of my favorite ways to save money on fashion! Now go out and expand your wardrobe the right way….the FRUGAL way.
